Our Musical Services
Corda Entertainment offers artistic excellence, professionalism, and 29-plus years of experience to make your special event truly memorable. Your choices include solo instruments of violin, cello, trumpet, flute, harp, guitar, piano/organ, as well as string duos, trios, quartets, quintets, The Corda Jazz Trio, The Corda Electric Duo, The Brooklyn Style Duo, and small orchestras.
Choosing Your Instruments
The solo violin is a great option for a small, simple, and elegant wedding of approximately 50 guests.
The string duo is suited for 50 to 100 guests and can be in many combinations: violin/flute, two violins, violin/harp, violin/cello, or violin/piano (organ). The first three give a lighter and transparent melody and harmony, the others a melody and bass sound.
The string trio is great for 100 to 150 guests because it offers an inner harmony to the melody and bass for a fuller sound. The combinations include violin/viola/cello, flute/violin/cello, or piano/violin/cello.
The string quartet has the roundest, fullest sound and is well-suited for over 150 guests. The group includes two violins, a viola, and a cello, which offers the most versatility in music selections. This is our most popular combination.
The string quintet offers the full sound of the quartet plus a stand-up bass to add more depth to the sound. This is a great idea for the wedding that is outdoors in a wide open area or a large ballroom where the sound needs to travel.
For an added touch, the trumpet is a great addition to the string trio, quartet, or quintet. A trumpet fanfare before the bridal entrance adds a grand announcement and will surely capture the audience's attention. The trumpet can also be utilized during the prelude and recessional music as well.
Planning Your Ceremony
Our goal is to provide beautiful and memorable music for your special day. Before your wedding day, we help you select music that personalizes your program. On your wedding day, we make your music flow seamlessly with all of your entrances and processions. We take our cues from your wedding director beforehand, and if there isn't a wedding director, we guide you through the process. We adjust speed and song lengths to the pace of your processions.
In a typical ceremony, we perform in these moments:
-
A 30-minute prelude while your guests are being seated
-
Special music for the entrances of the grandmothers and mothers
-
Special music for the entrances of the bridesmaids, flower girls, and ring bearers
-
Special music for the entrance of the bride for the processional
-
Select music during the service (lighting of the unity candle, communion, reflection)
-
Special music for the recessional for the bride/groom
-
Short postlude music for your guests
For cocktail hour, reception, or other special events, we offer a variety of music, including Light Classical, Modern, Tangos, Scott Joplin Rags, Cole Porter Jazz, Broadway and Pop Show Tunes, Opera Favorites, The Beatles, The Carpenters, and more. Please inquire as to what styles work best for the instrumentation you choose.
We are happy to accompany singers whenever possible. Please inquire for details.
